Enteral Tube Series Session 2: Decision Making

Rita Wong is a Nurse Practitioner in the G Tube Feeding Program at SickKids who focuses on supporting caregivers through the decision-making process towards inserting a feeding tube for their child.  This role includes collaborating with caregivers and the clinical team in meeting oral intake goals of care, decision support, and coordinating procedures.   Prior to her role at SickKids, Rita practiced as a primary health care NP in a Toronto Community Health Centre.

Silvana Oppedisano has worked at SickKids for over 38 years! She has held a variety of positions in various programs across the organization. Currently, she is a Nurse Practitioner in the G-tube Feeding Program where she provides consultation and support for both outpatients and inpatients of all areas of the hospital, assessing patient’s appropriateness, safety and family readiness for feeding tube insertion.
