Pharmacotherapy and Pediatric Obesity

Dr. Katherine Morrison is Co-Director of the Centre for Metabolism, Obesity and Diabetes Research (MODR) and a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University. The newly developed Centre focuses on translational aspects of research at the interface of preclinical and clinical research. She is a clinician researcher, active clinically in the Pediatric Weight Management and Pediatric Lipid Clinics at McMaster Children’s Hospital where she is the medical director. Her research is focused on the etiology, consequences and treatment of obesity and lipid disorders in children.

Sarah Schmidt is a pediatric nurse practitioner currently practicing with the PHIT program in Peterborough.
She graduated with her master’s of nursing/nurse practitioner in 2016 and has worked in pediatric diabetes, refractory epilepsy and obesity management. Sarah enjoys being a member of the passionate and committed multidisciplinary PHIT team.
