Cindy van Halderen is a Social Worker with 27 years of experience in pediatric oncology and pediatric and adult palliative care. Cindy entered the QoLA Care Clinical Specialist position in July 2018 and works to optimize the care experience for children with complex medical conditions and their families. In addition to her primary palliative care role, Cindy currently serves as a Clinical Co-Lead, Palliative Care, for Ontario Health, West Region, with the directive of advancing the new Models of Palliative Care for adults and children.

Kate is a Certified Child Life Specialist at McMaster Children’s Hospital. As part of the Quality of Life & Advanced Care Team, she supports children, youth, and families facing serious illness, end-of-life, and grief. Kate is passionate about advocating for the needs of siblings and offering psychosocial care in the community.
