Cough Assist and Children with Medical Complexity
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Understand the indications for mechanical in-exsufflation therapy for the child with medical complexity.
- Gain familiarity with the available devices used in this therapy.
- Briefly review the modes, settings, and interfaces relevant to administering therapy.
- Recognize challenges that patients may encounter during the therapy.
- Acquire knowledge on prescribing and initiating equipment, as well as arranging essential education for both the patient and their caregiver.
