Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the indications for mechanical in-exsufflation therapy for the child with medical complexity.
  • Gain familiarity with the available devices used in this therapy.
  • Briefly review the modes, settings, and interfaces relevant to administering therapy.
  • Recognize challenges that patients may encounter during the therapy.
  • Acquire knowledge on prescribing and initiating equipment, as well as arranging essential education for both the patient and their caregiver.
