This session will aim to:

  • To provide basic information re: assessment and management of anxiety and depression
  • To increase attendees’knowledge/comfort in:
    • When to treat with pharmacological and non-pharm treatment, and when to use non-pharm treatment alone
    • When to consult psychiatry

Pamela Mosher, MD at the Hospital for Sick Children

Dr. Pamela Mosher is originally from Boston, Massachusetts, and received her education at Duke University (BSc), Harvard University (M.Div.), and Stanford University School of Medicine (M.D.).  She undertook combined residency training in pediatrics, adult psychiatry and a child/adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Brown University’s Triple Board Program.  She completed the Program in Palliative Care Education and Practice at Harvard in 2010.  She is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, and a staff psychiatrist at Sick Kids Hospital and at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.   Her interests include the emotional and psychological experiences of physically ill children and youth, child/adolescent/young adult grief; the education of physicians in end of life communication; trainee education at the intersection of psychiatry and medicine, and clinician/trainee wellness.
